A new season of Marvel Snap kicks off on May 7, and this month, developer Second Dinner is looking at one of the more obscure Marvel comic books for inspiration. A Blink in Time will explore the Marvel Multiverse with the Exiles, a group of dimension-hopping characters who travel across alternate realities to fix cosmic hiccups across parallel dimensions. The first series debuted back in 2001 and ran for an impressive 100 issues.
This season, there’ll be five new cards to collect, two new locations to plan for, and new albums to collect. First up is Blink, a teleporting mutant who can swap the last card you played with a higher-cost card from your deck. This makes her potentially very useful for clutch situations, as a deck loaded with heavy-hitters could be called in before the final turn, while other cards like Lockjaw, Shuri, and Ironheart also work well with her.
Namora has a pretty great ability if you’re looking to have powerhouses dominating zones on the board. She gives +5 power to each of your cards alone at another location, so cards like Namor, Orca, and Sebastian Shaw should work pretty well with her. You’ll probably want to watch out for any surprise Shang-Chi plays if you theme your deck around her.
Nocturne, the daughter of Nightcrawler and the Scarlet Witch, can move once and replace its location with a new one. Pair her up with Ghost-Spider to add some randomness to your game. Sage, a mutant with the power of super-intelligence, gets a power boost for each different power among all other cards on a location. That makes her function very nicely in a deck loaded with low-cost cards, potentially creating a zone where you can have multiple powers wreaking havoc on your opponent’s plays.
Finally, Sasquatch rounds out the new arrivals this season. The Canadian cryptid costs one energy point less for each card you played the previous turn, making her good in a low-cost deck as well. Here’s a closer look at the new cards and their unique art.
