Apple AirPods 4 And New AirPods Max Preorders Are Live At Amazon
Apple unveiled a slew of new devices during its Glowtime livestream on Monday, September 9, including the 4th generation of AirPods wireless earbuds. The new Bluetooth earbuds come in two models: a $129 standard model and a $179 version with active noise cancellation and some other extra features.. Both versions of the AirPods 4 launch on September 20, and are available for preorder now at Amazon and Best Buy.

The AirPods 4 feature a slightly revised form factor that makes for a more secure fit in your ears, improved sound quality thanks to revised acoustic architecture, and a new charging case with a USB-C port. The AirPods 4 run for up to five hours on a full charge, and the charging case brings that figure to 30 hours.
Both models feature Apple’s new H2 chip, which enables other high-end features on the AirPods 4 when paired with an iPhone running iOS 18, including Adaptive Audio and Conversation Awareness modes.
The $179 version includes active noise cancellation mode. Additionally, the $179 AirPods 4 also come with an upgraded charging case that includes a built-in speaker and wireless Qi charging support.
This puts the $179 between the standard $129 version and the $249 AirPods Pro (2nd Gen), which are regularly on sale–right now you can snag a pair for $190 (was $249).

Along with the new AirPods 4 options, Apple also announced an AirPods Max refresh with a USB-C port, bringing the over-ear headphones in line with the rest of Apple’s current device lineup, all of which have ditched the Lightning port and swapped to USB-C instead. Multiple new colors are available with the new AirPods Max headphones, including purple and orange.
The AirPods Max with USB-C also release September 20 and retail for $549, the same price as the originals. However, if you don’t mind the Lightning port, you can save some some cash at Amazon, as the AirPods Max with Lightning are available for $399 in pink, $449 in gray, and $459 in blue, silver, or green.

Apple also announced more than just new headphones–most notably the upcoming iPhone 16 line and the Apple Watch Series 10 models. The iPhone 16 has hardware-accelerated ray tracing, which will allow the new devices to play more AAA games.
