New York Game Awards 2025 – All Nominees

The New York Video Game Critics Circle (NYVGCC) has announced the nominees for the 14th annual New York Game Awards. From standard awards like Best Game of the Year to niche categories like Best Hidden Gem, this year’s awards ceremony features 13 categories and a total of 81 nominees.

Voice actors Hannah Telle (Max Caufield in Life Is Strange: Double Exposure) and Logan Cunningham (Hades in Hades 2) appeared during the nomination livestream to announce each nominee. The pair also revealed that the awards show–which takes place on January 21–will honor Sam Lake as the 2025 Andrew Yoon Legend Award recipient.

This year’s awards show features the following categories:

• Big Apple Award – Best Game of the Year
• Off Broadway Award – Best Indie Game
• Herman Melville Award – Best Writing in a Game
• Statue of Liberty Award – Best World
• Tin Pan Alley Award – Best Music in a Game
• Great White Way Award – Best Acting in a Game
• Coney Island Dreamland Award – Best AR/VR Game
• Central Park Children’s Zoo Award – Best Kids Game
• A-Train Award – Best Mobile Game
• Freedom Tower Award – Best Remake
• Chumley’s Speakeasy Award – Best Hidden Gem
• NYC GWB Award – Best DLC
• Knickerbocker Award – Best Games Journalism
