Xbox Signs 10-Year Deal To Bring PC Games To Boosteroid Cloud Gaming

Microsoft has announced a 10-year agreement with Boosteroid to bring Xbox first-party PC games to its cloud gaming platform.

The announcement was made with a Microsoft news post, where it was confirmed that the Xbox PC games being brought to Boosteroid will include Activision Blizzard games like Call of Duty. Boosteroid has its software development team based in Ukraine and is now the largest independent cloud gaming provider in the world after recently surpassing 4 million users. This partnership will bring the Call of Duty franchise more than 150 million additional players.

“We believe in the power of games to bring people together. That’s why Xbox is committed to give everyone more ways to play their favorite games, across devices,” said Microsoft gaming CEO, Phil Spencer. “Bringing Xbox PC games to Boosteroid members, including Activision Blizzard titles such as Call of Duty once the deal closes, is yet another step in realizing that vision.”

Boosteroid CEO Ivan Shvaichenko explained that it has been Boosteroid’s goal to “provide gamers with an opportunity to enjoy their favorite titles on any device close at hand” and this partnership with Microsoft is “yet another step in this direction.”

“Also, with our development team based in Ukraine, we appreciate Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to Ukraine, and we will be working together on an initiative supporting our local game development community to invest further in the economic recovery of the country,” Shvaichenko added.

Boosteroid is mostly based in Kyiv and Kharkiv, and despite Russian missiles damaging its two offices in Kharkiv, the company has still continued to grow during the 13 months of war. In 2023, Boosteroid also brought cloud gaming services to Mac, Chromebooks, and more.
