Assassin’s Creed Jade Is A Free-To-Play Mobile AC Game
Today at the Ubisoft Forward presentation, new details on Assassin’s Creed Jade were revealed, which included a first look at in-game action as well as a surprising platform: Jade will be free-to-play on mobile devices in partnership with Level Infinite.
The game is set in Ancient China around 215 B.C., which is between the events of Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Odyssey. It will follow Xia, the adopted son of the emperor Wei Yu, as he travels through China and its many landmarks–including the Great Wall and the imperial capital of Xianyang.
The game will bring the traditional Assassin’s Creed style of gameplay to mobile, as the debut trailer showed stealth-based movement, hand-to-hand combat, and long-range attacks using a bow and arrow. For the first time in the franchise, however, the lead will be fully customizable, as players can design Xia to look however they wish.
The game is being co-developed by Level Infinite, and players with a Level Infinite Pass login can register now to be part of a closed beta on the game’s official website. It will be available on both iOS and Android devices later this year.
Jade was not the only Ubisoft Forward announcement involving the Assassin’s Creed franchise, with both Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR also making an appearance onstage.
