Next Vampire Survivors DLC Is Literally An Ode To Castlevania
A recent indie hit will soon be getting the chance to pay homage to one of its biggest inspirations. Today, as part of Konami’s Castlevania Fair event on Steam, Poncle–the team behind Vampire Survivors–announced the Ode To Castlevania DLC pack, which will be available for all versions of the game on October 31 for $4.
Ode To Castlevania is “an all-out celebration” of the long-running adventure series, as well as the largest update in Vampire Survivors’ brief history. The content pack will include over 20 new heroes, 40 new weapons, and the largest map the game has seen so far, which will be “stacked with sinister secrets and a bunch of baneful bosses.”
Some of the names and weapons specifically named for the DLC pack are below:
- The Belmonts, including Simon, Richter, Trevor, and Sonia
- Multiple witches, including Sypha and Yoko Belnade, Charlotte Aulin, and Maria Renard
- Eight different whip weapons
- Elemental spells inspired by Portrait Of Ruin and Harmony Of Dissonance
- Magic weapons, with Alucard’s sword, spear, and shield specifically mentioned
The pack will also add over 30 music tracks from Castlevania’s history to the game, remixed in the Vampire Survivors style by composers Daniele Zandara and Filippo Vicarelli, among others. A sample track, Vampire Killer, was shared alongside the announcement.
Ode To Castlevania is the latest collaboration DLC to hit Vampire Survivors, but it is not the first time Konami and Poncle have teamed up. A Contra crossover event–which brought the shooter’s main heroes Bill and Lance to Vampire Survivors–took place earlier this year, while the crewmates from Among Us slayed monsters via the Emergency Meeting pack in December 2023.
The Ode To Castlevania pack for Vampire Survivors launches October 31 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile devices.
