Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket Is Out Now

Start collecting your digital booster packs because Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket is available now on iOS and Android devices. The new app lets players collect and battle from their phones, as well as digitally go inside immersive cards.

Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket will offer up two free booster packs to players daily. These are opened with the swipe of a finger, as if you were tearing the top off like in real life. Additionally, the app offers customization of cards with display boards and flair. Along with classic cards, Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket will include unique cards exclusive to this experience. The launch trailer–seen below–shows a player diving deeper into an immersive card for Pikachu, for example.

Announced in February, Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket wants to streamline the experience for your phone. One way of doing so involves battling with the app, which will include auto-building assistance and rental decks. The first expansion for the title is Genetic Apex, composed of Kanto-region Pokemon.

Meanwhile, don’t confuse this new app with Pokemon Trading Card Game Live, which came out last year on PC and mobile devices. That game digitally recreates the full Trading Card Game experience.

Looking ahead for the franchise, Pokemon Legends Z-A is supposed to launch on Switch sometime next year. The game takes place in Lumiose City, a hub setting from Pokemon X and Y–which released on 3DS.
