How To Take Part In The Fortnite Remix Prelude Live Event
Another year, another chapter down–and it’s just about time to say goodbye to the Chapter 5 island as we head into Fortnite Remix season. Similar to last year’s OG season, Remix will take us back to an old version of the battle royale island for a month before Chapter 6 begins in December. And the Remix party will start on Friday, Nov. 1, at 6:30 PM ET/3:30 PM PT, when a new live event will usher in whatever this new season has in store.
The event, dubbed Remix Prelude, will take place during battle royale and zero build matches at Restored Reels, the ancient Greek movie theater at the center of the island. What exactly will this event involve? We really don’t know, but Epic really wants you to be able to watch whatever it is without being griefed by random other players–it’s making Restored Reels a “protected area” in which you can’t kill other players during the event, and there won’t be any damage from the storm should it overtake you before the event ends.
While we don’t know what exactly to expect from the event itself, enough info about the new season has already leaked that we can make some guesses. We’ve known for months, to cite one example, that Snoop Dogg will be the new Fortnite Festival headliner, and so it’s a safe bet he’ll pop in for a song or two a la Eminem during last year’s Chapter 5 event.
Beyond Snoop, it’s tough to guess what else the event will entail, but it will certainly give us our biggest teases yet for Remix season–perhaps we’ll get our first look at the long-rumored low-rider vehicle mechanics–along with a proper introduction to the new Remix battle pass skins and a look in particular at what’s next for Festival.
Epic is calling this event the first of a three-part sequence–Remix season itself being the second part, and another finale event on November 30 being the last piece.
Remix season, for those who aren’t up on the leaks, will take us back to the early parts of Chapter 2–specifically, the first three seasons, which is when a number of fan-favorite characters, like Midas, Meowscles and Skye–were first introduced.
