Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3: Star Wars Season, Darth Jar Jar, Battle Pass, And Everything Else To Know
There’s not much time remaining in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2, and it’s looking like Season 3 is going to be a wild one: a season that’s all about Star Wars. Normally, the spring Fortnite season would run until late May or early June, but Season 2 is wrapping up weeks earlier. But since we’ve got Star Wars season next, the change makes sense–they’re kicking things off on the weekend of the May the 4th.

Even as we wait for Season 3, there’s still some work to be done before we get there. The final part of Season 2’s storyline quests is now active, and they’ll lead us into another end-of-season story event like the titanic battle between Shogun X and Daigo we had in Season 1.
Once that’s done, it’ll be full speed ahead toward Season 3, which already has folks in a tizzy thanks to the big reveal trailer from Star Wars Celebration in Japan (see it just below). Let’s take a look at what we know so far.

Fortnite Star Wars Season trailer
The season trailer dropped on Saturday night on the main stage at Star Wars Celebration. And, uh, it’s quite a doozie.
Fortnite Star Wars Season start date
The current battle pass is advertised to end on May 1 at 10:30 PM PT / May 2 at 1:30 AM ET, which means the plan is for Fortnite to go offline at that time for maintenance and the season update. If all goes well, the new season will kick off during the morning of Friday, May 2.
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 theme
Season 3 will be a Star Wars-focused season, which will add Star Wars locations, weapons, and items to battle royale, like last year’s Marvel-oriented Absolute Doom season. But it seems as though Epic has learned some important lessons from the way the last Marvel season wore out its welcome so hard that the company had to pull most of the Marvel items from battle royale before the season ended–this Star Wars season will reportedly last just five weeks. Short and sweet.
Fortnite Star Wars season map changes
Epic has already revealed what the new map will look like–we’re getting four new named locations, each of which will occupy a corner of the map.

The new locations include a Tatooine-inspired desert biome in the southeast, a snowy First Order enclave in the northeast, a jungle-themed Resistance base in the northeast. There will also be some other changes scattered around the map, like a wrecked AT-AT walker that’s been converted into a restaurant in the mountains above Brutal Boxcars.
Fortnite Star Wars season gameplay changes
In addition to a loot pool full of Star Wars weapons and other items, this Star Wars season will introduce flyable X-Wings and TIE Fighters–X-Wings will be able to carry one pilot and three passengers on the fuselage and the wings, whereas the TIE will carry one pilot and one passenger.
Fortnite Star Wars season battle pass

A Star Wars-themed season would mean a Star Wars-themed battle pass, and now we know what the lineup is: Emperor Palpatine, General Grievous, Poe “They Fly Now” Dameron, Wookiee Team Leader and a new remix of Evie from the Chapter 3 Season 3 battle pass.
Other New Fortnite Star Wars skins
Since the above skins are on the battle pass, most or all of the remaining skins that have been teased will be sold in the shop. That includes Darth Jar Jar, Mace Windu, Captain Phasma, and the customizable Mandalorian. That said, it’s likely there is another…
Lego Fortnite Star Wars updates in Chapter 6 Season 3

We haven’t had any leaks about Star Wars-themed Lego Fortnite updates, but the current Lego Pass also ends on May 2. Since Star Wars season is indeed arriving in battle royale that day, it stands to reason the same thing will happen in Lego Fortnite Odyssey. Last year’s Lego Pass (pictured above) included a Chewbacca skin and ushered in a major Star Wars storyline, and so it seems safe to assume that the next Lego Pass will include one of the skins revealed in the trailer above, and that the Galactic Civil War will once again intrude upon your Lego Fortnite islands.
